On Wednesday, the 19th of October 2022, Austen Morris Associates’ Senior Partner Jon Holand and Managing Senior Partner James Colclough enjoyed hosting another world-class Private Client Dinner at Anokhi Bar & Grill.
The newest and most talked about restaurant in Shanghai, ‘Anokhi, means ‘rare’ in Hindi. Like the name, Anokhi was borne from a dream to bring world-class Indian dining to the city of Shanghai. Every part of the restaurant resonates with a core theme of ‘Discovery’ – discover modern food from an avant-garde kitchen, innovative dishes, classy décor, and fine wines – all underlined with warm Indian hospitality.
Our evening started with a sparkling reception in the main lounge and bar, – allowing our clients and guests the time to relax and engage with one another before moving to the Chefs table to enjoy a unique 4-course culinary experience of 15 different dishes perfectly paired with wines.
The menu was crafted and perfectly executed by Owner and Chef Jibin Arjunan and his team of gastronomic experts.
We started the meal with an Amuse Bouche- Gol Gappa Gimlet (miniature cocktail), a must, served inventively with a panipuri, a fun start to the feast to follow.
The Entrees consisted of three dishes, and all 3 hit the mark. Not only a feast for the eyes but taste-wise, this was a 10’ Mini Raj Kachori, Achari Paneer Tikka & the Mackrel Tawa Fry.
Next was the Main- A taste of India, Thali (served on one plate). A showstopper of a course consisting of six dishes with accompaniments of various parathas and rice. Too many dishes to mention individually, but the Millionaires Butter Chicken, the Sheekh Kebab and Malabar Beef Roast will undoubtedly have some of our clients and guests making a repeat visit to Anoki very soon.
We finished the evening with a Trio of Desserts; the Motichoor Rabdi Parfait was exquisite, and the Masla Chai Gelato was a welcome cooler.
Everything came together perfectly, from the exquisite venue and its stunning décor to the delectable food and faultless service from Jibin and the Anokhi team- our clients and guests, thoroughly enjoyed themselves, making this Private Client Dinner a genuinely memorable experience.
