CHAR Bar & Grill is housed in the Hotel Indigo, Shanghai on the Bund and is one of the top steakhouses in the city, recommended by the Michelin Guide Shanghai for the 4th year in a row. Among all the nominated restaurants, CHAR won the Hotel Steakhouse of the year in That’s Shanghai Food and Beverage Awards 2018.
The evening started with our clients and guests enjoying a Champagne reception at the renowned CHAR Bar VIP area of the rooftop terrace bar, taking in the spectacular 270-degree panoramic views of the Huangpu River.
Following the sparkling reception, our guests were guided to the exclusive private dining room in the CHAR grill restaurant, to enjoy a four-course culinary experience. CHAR is renowned for mixing modern fusion with old classics, and especially for their excellent steaks. The menu was perfectly crafted by the award-winning Executive Chef and Culinary Director, Will Colmenares.
The dining experience started with a delicate lemongrass-infused Lobster Bisque, followed by a Smoked Wagyu Beef Tiradito (carpaccio) with chipotle aioli and lime bbq dressing.
The star of the evening was the main course, a succulent Stockyard Black Angus Grain Fed Australian Beef served with roasted baby onions, mushrooms, bacon & parsley crumble, rocket, artichokes, aged balsamic toasted pine nuts and CHAR sea salted steak chips. The meal was perfectly paired with wine specially selected by the Sommelier, a Char Private label Chardonnay and a Char private label Shiraz both from South Australia. The evening ended high note with CHAR’s signature dessert, a decadent Banana Cheesecake.
The evening was an opportunity to thank some of our existing clients for their long term partnerships, and also for them to introduce some potential new clients to AMA.
