I was contacted by Alex Pitro from AMA last year to discuss my pensions. Initially, I was reluctant because I’d had a similar approach some 10 years earlier from another organisation for the same reason and the consequences of that approach were really unsatisfactory. I agreed to transfer a pension based upon that company’s recommendations and the financial consequences were, to say the least, disappointing and the attitude of that organisation was essentially a lack of interest.  So I was reluctant but agreed to meet. I was impressed by the organisation  AMA and the professionalism of Alex. More than anything there was a real interest in and understanding of my previous bad experience, propensity for risk and my financial needs in retirement.  We agreed on a progressive approach. Firstly to sort out the QROPS investment that had gone so badly wrong and then to look beyond that to additional investments. Both of those have been successfully implemented and I’m satisfied with the returns even in these volatile economic conditions but as important I’m really satisfied with the ongoing contact with AMA through Alex both formal in terms of regular investment reviews and informal with regular contacts.  Steve Speller General manager of Servier Southern Africa.

“In our new business process, we are rigorous in terms of the advisory organizations that we wish to undertake business with.  We consider AMA to be the leading advisory group in South Africa and China, driven by individuals, who have outstanding attention to detail and a real passion for delivering positive client outcomes. In an industry, which has become increasingly fragmented, the level of stability and professionalism within their senior team makes it easy for us to deal with, in an ever-changing international pensions landscape.  We have always found AMA’s team to be at the forefront of adapting to these changes.”  Stewart DaviesCEO for Momentum Pensions

I could not recommend Austen Morris Associates and more specifically my consultant, Alex Pitro, highly enough. From the outset, Alex has been exceptionally professional and never once did I feel compelled or forced into switching from my previous Financial Planning and Wealth Management service provider. Instead, Alex guided me through the benefits of AMA’s offering, the depth of their product offering and platform capabilities, as well as their track record in supporting individuals similar to myself that have a need for an independent and well-informed view in navigating global investment markets. What ultimately made me switch my portfolio management to AMA was Alex’s dedication around meticulously assessing and planning around achieving my retirement goals after numerous consultations, taking into account my primary objectives and guiding which at that stage was a somewhat insular view on the truly global investment options that were available to me. What I initially suspected to be a drawn-out process to switch providers proved to be very easy and painless, while AMA’s execution in terms of paperwork and ultimate investment allocations has been nothing short of exceptional. Since I’ve switched to AMA 20 months ago Alex and I have maintained a close relationship with regular portfolio reviews, prompt response and guidance whenever I come calling and continuous updates regarding future expectations/portfolio rebalances which has proved invaluable as we navigate through the greatest global economic crisis of our times.  Niel de Bruin- Executive Director at Standard Chartered Bank- South Africa.
