On Wednesday, 7th November 2018, Senior Partner Jon Holand hosted a Private Client Dinner at Three on the Bund’s Jean-Georges.
Clients were welcomed to the 7th Floor Whisper Bar for Champagne and Canapés, where they could mix and mingle before moving downstairs to the fourth floor into a private dining room with a view through to the Lujiazui skyline along the Bund, for a four-course Michelin Starred meal.
World-renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten presents a masterful spin on French cuisine with Jean-Georges Shanghai, his first signature restaurant outside New York. Since re-opening in 2016, the brand new Jean- Georges received many honours. It has been awarded Food Space Category Winner by Asia Pacific Interior Design Awards 2017, and one Star Michelin Restaurant by The Michelin Guide Shanghai 2018 and The Michelin Guide Shanghai 2019.
With wines poured and an appetiser of sautéed foie gras with green apple and yuzu-dashi foam served, Jon Holand welcomed guests for the evening whilst also taking the opportunity to introduce Giles Boeree of Sanlam Global Investment Solutions, an Institutional Partner of Austen Morris Associates presenting on a world-first Balanced UCITS Fund managed solely by Artificial Intelligence.
As the evening progressed through a starter of wild mushroom soup, parmesan, chilli and thyme, Giles presented on Sanlam Global Investment Solutions. The presentation’s focus was that financial markets have been through significant change in recent years. With unprecedented central bank participation, markets now move faster than ever before. Giles spoke about how investment strategies need to keep pace to provide investors with the optimal client experience.
And to do so, the Sanlam Managed Risk UCITS Fund, previously managed by a systematic investment process, was born, and is now managed by an advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML) investment engine, making this a world first. And a new opportunity for investors looking for ways to diversify their investment portfolios further. Post presentation, the main meal of beef tenderloin paired with a potato puree and broccolini miso butter was enjoyed before concluding the evening with a decadent dessert of warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and petits fours.
