Shanghai’s 2nd Annual Chi Fan for Charity event organized by Austen Morris Associates is coming to town again on Saturday November 17th 2012 at 7:30pm. We have offcially selected the charities involved which include Heart to Heart Shanghai, Baoji Xinxing Aid for Street Kids, and Beacon of Love. We are looking forward to the opportunity to work with over 30 resturants and over 350 guests for a fantastic evening of good eats, good times and good causes!
On November 17th epicureans of Shanghai can delight in their choice of restaurant for an evening amongst like-minded friends on a table of 10. Guests will be treated by the restaurant to a unique 3 courses with 2 wine pairing meal. This is donated by the restaurant whilst guests pay for seats on the table and 100% of the proceeds go to Charity. Guests attending dinner are also invited to continue the celebrations at the After Party along with their fellow diners from other participating restaurants – a great place to mix and mingle with everyone involved. The event was created in Beijing, in 2009 by the Founder, Michael Crain and the event won The Beijinger’s ‘Culinary Event of the Year’ in 2010.
Last year’s Chi Fan for Charity event was a huge success, involving 26 of Shanghai’s best restaurants and raising over 200,000 RMB for three local worthwhile charities. With supporters like yourself and with the amount of buzz we are already receiving following a recent Chi Fan for Charity and Napa Valley Vintner dinner, we are confident that this year’s event will carry the same impact and influence as past years.

Formerly The Charity Carnival, Beacon of Love is dedicated to create public awareness on the plight of children suffering from congenital heart disease in China. Since 2002, by hosting their annual Charity Carnival event and in partnership with the Shanghai Children’s Health Foundation, they have helped finance the surgeries with their commitment to improve as many lives of children as they can, to also improve the lives of many families. They believe “We help one child, We help the whole family”, therefore, “The Gift of a Normal Life“ today continues to be their vision as they strive to raise funds to support the heart operations of needy children across China.
