Austen Morris Associates Africa were proud to sponsor a hole at the Country Club of Johannesburg’s annual Men’s and Women’s Charity golf days. The tournaments were held on the 30th of July of the Women and on the 31st of July for the Men.
Head of Recruitment Anu Aggarwal and her team of new business co-ordinators Sheena van Rooijen and Warren Lewis were out and proud supporting all who participated. In true Austen Morris style we raffled off a bottle of champagne at both tournaments. Our Africa Regional Manager and Senior Partner Wade Dawson and Advisor Chris Slater-Jones participated in the Men’s tournament on the 31st and they enjoyed themselves thoroughly. The proceeds from these events will go to 2 organisations the Sunshine Association and CAS. The Sunshine Association is a non-profit organisation that supports children with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities, their families and communities.
The Sunshine Association believes early intervention is crucial to the development of these children, they offer an early intervention programme to children with disabilities/delays from the age of 18 months. What makes them so special is their passion for children with disabilities, their holistic approach and their dedicated staff who go out of their way to better understand and service the special needs of each individual child.
The rest of the proceeds will be going to the CAS(Community Assisting Schools) CAS is a pragmatic organisation that is staffed 100% by volunteers with all funding and donations being 100% allocated to 1 of the 3 schools they currently support. They believe that by focusing on schools within their community their volunteers are committed and volunteering is a pleasure rather than a grudge.
They are trying to make a difference – and they are – one school at a time. Their philosophy is simple, they touch the lives of close to 3000 learners and around 200 educators across 3 schools and through focus they are able to deliver positive results for the schools they support and make a difference to learners’ futures and the future of the societies that they live and work within. Both foundations do remarkable work and it was an absolute pleasure for Austen Morris Associates to get involved and play our part in assisting our local community, we look forward to getting involved in future events in and around our local community.
