Austen Morris Associates’ Private Client Dinner on Thursday the 8th of March was held at CUIVRE by Michael Wendling. The evening was a great opportunity for Austen Morris Associates’ Senior Partner Matthew Beale, Partner Alan Vassallo, Senior Regional Associate Stuart Ross, Max Gonella, Senior Associate Jiro Tsukuba, and Associates Aymeric de Boisboissel and Jordan Morley to entertain their clients and guests. The restaurant has quickly become one of the hottest culinary-art destinations in Shanghai. It is a country-style southern French bistro with a modern twist, easily communicated through both its decor and menu.
The sponsor of the evening was Mr. Nick James of Generali International and the event speaker was Mr. Giles Boeree, who presented the latest on investments into Student Accommodation Funds, and answered questions covering this unique investment opportunity. Giles has over 25 years of broad experience in building multi-channel distribution for life companies, funds houses and alternative asset managers in Europe and the Middle East, and for the last 15 years, the Far East. Giles lives in Hong Kong and works with Coral Portfolio, a Luxembourg-based student accommodation specialist, founded in 2008.
While meeting new friends and enjoying lively conversation, guests enjoyed a delicious meal: Salad de chevre chaud to start, paired with Domaine Rougeot’s Bourgogne Blanc 2009. Next came a feast of Soupe a la truffe and Bavette a l’echalotte, grilled wagyu beef flank served with shallot and red wine sauce, French green beans served with mashed potatoes, French fries served with a Domaine de Beaurenard – Cote du Rhone village Rasteau 2008. Dessert was CUIVRE famous Mousse au chocolat with Jivara– chocolate mousse with shaved white chocolate.
