On 31st December 2015 fans of one of the most successful rock bands of all time listened to Mel Botes performing Dark Side of the Moon, a tribute to Pink Floyd held at The Dome, in Swakopmund. As part of Austen Morris Associates global expansion we now have a large presence in Africa and were proud to sponsor this amazing event to promote our growth in the community. Austen Morris Associates are currently expanding our global operations throughout Africa and are looking forward to bringing our much needed expertise in private wealth management services to Namibia and the African Continent.
Dark Side of the Moon, is an electrifying multi-dimensional show which has received outstanding reviews in South Africa and which has previously been presented in front of sell-out audiences in Namibia. Taking center stage was the legendary Mel Botes who is no stranger to Namibian music lovers and undoubtedly one of South Africa’s most talented guitarists and songwriters. His brilliance as a guitarist is fully explored in this show. He was accompanied by the crème de la crème of South African musicians such as Simon Orange on Hammond, Hansie Roodt on 2nd guitar, Stephan Aiken on Sax and Rohan Blignaut on drums. The concert combined musical forces with a Namibian musician and back vocalists. During the second half of the show Mel continued the musical magic by entertaining guests with Dominoes, a collage of international hits by bands such as Dire Straits, Deep Purple, The Doors and iconic guitarists like Santana, Eric Clapton and many more.
The very popular Namibian band, Just Jack, warmed up the audience ahead of the main attraction of the evening. After midnight, guests kept on rocking with Just Jack until the early morning hours. The Namibian performance was held in the holiday hotspot Swakopmund, at the highly acclaimed and popular event venue, The Dome. This New Year’s Eve concert was made possible by committed project partners, Austen Morris Associates, an international financial planning and wealth management company, was the main sponsor for this event and we were excited to be able to use this opportunity to showcase our brand to the Namibian market.
