Austen Morris Associates donates a heart surgery to a child selected by Heart to Heart Shanghai on behalf of the Chi Fan for Charity benefit on April 19th. Austen Morris Associates Senior Partner Wade Dawson, Client Services Manager Kelly Olver, and Head of Marketing Katie Littlefield organized the event along with the Napa Valley Vintners Association with the goal of raising 25,000 RMB to donate a heart surgery the selected child.
Li Danyang, an eight year old girl from Henan Province was the beneficiary for the heat surgery. She lives with five family members including parents and grandparents; together they have an average annual household income RMB6,500. The high costs of her medical needs left her parents heavily in debt. Her parents are also very poorly educated and can’t find employment for migrant workers. Another issue they are facing is that her grandparents are sick and constantly medicated. Li Danyang was diagnosed with congenital heart defects soon after her birth, her parents have unsuccessfully tried to save the money for her heart surgery until she was selected by Heart to Heart, learn more at www.heart2heartshanghai.net.
