Thank you to all of the clients and friends who attended the Austen Morris Associates Client Appreciation Dinner in association with Generali and Miton Optimal. The dinner was held at one of Shanghai’s newest restaurants, Larder Bar & Grill located in the new Taikang Terrace on Wednesday, 6th of March 2013. The dinner consisted of a wonderful meal with wine pairings at Larder Bar & Grill, former Mesa Manifesto Chef/partner Steve Baker and former M on the Bund and Purple Onion’s Chef Lex Hauser’s newest concept. All guests enjoyed the decadent menu of simple, straight forward Aussie inspired cuisine starting with chilled seafood salad, champagne dressing, crisp potato cake paired with a Hewitson Lulu sauvignon blanc from Australia. The first course was lemon chicken on creamed polenta, green pea asparagus soup, artichoke pate on croute paired with a Chapel Hill Verdelho, McLaren Vale. The main course was a grilled beef tenderloin, oxtail bordelaise, bone marrow crumble with red wine beetroot glaze and broccoli with garlic butter, chunky chips, and a mixed salad paired with a Clifton Reserve Shiraz Australia. The meal ended with a “shared” Larder dessert samplers.
During the evening, Martin Gray spoke about “A Macro View on Global Investment Themes.” He discussed the downside shocks in 2002, in 2008, and more recently 2011.
