On Wednesday the 14th of April 2021, Austen Morris Associates’ Senior Partner Jon Holand along with Managing Senior Partner, James Colclough had the pleasure of hosting another world-class Private Client Dinner at KEE.
Set in a truly unique, beautiful and intimate environment in the elegant 1920s Twin Villas. KEE is the club for people interested in being part of a particular chic lifestyle that embraces the ultimate in art, music, food, wine, and people. Founded in 2001 by Hong Kong-based Austrian Christian Rhomberg and his wife Maria, the original KEE private members club in Hong Kong has created an exclusive salon culture incorporating convivial fine dining.
The Shanghai club showcases the finest art and design from around the world within its European-influenced environment. It offers a diverse selection of international entertainment, including avant-garde film screenings and some of the most engaging social, corporate and cultural events ever to be held in the city.
Based on the 3rd floor, key features include an elegant, brasserie-style restaurant, an exquisite main lounge and bar area with beautiful eclectic furniture, rich red upholstery perfectly complementing the unique copper bar and open fireplaces. The outdoor stone tiled balconies overlooking the garden are perfect for sundowners. The 4th floor has two larger exclusive salons, the Alfred Dunhill Salon and the Vacheron Constantin Salon, and these were specifically designed for more significant private functions. Our evening started with a sparkling reception in the main lounge and bar, – allowing our guests the time to relax and engage with one another before being given a private tour of the Villa. Following the tour, our guests moved to the private dining area to enjoy a unique 4-course culinary experience.
Rated as one of the best restaurants in Shanghai, KEE restaurant serves up a refreshing and contemporary dining experience encompassing International and Cantonese cuisine. Our menu was crafted and perfectly executed by the team of world-class chefs headed up by Shanghai native, Executive Chef Ken Lu. Our meal started with a delectable BEEF CARPACCIO – arugula, tuna Sauce, parmesan cheese. A light fish course followed this – SLOW COOKED HALIBUT with a smoked potato mousse. The main course was a mouth-watering AUSTRALIAN BEEF, perfectly cooked, served with green asparagus & a beef jus. The dining experience ended on a high note with a decadent CHESTNUT CUP – vanilla cheese cream, almond dacquoise with fresh chestnut.
Everything came together perfectly, from the exquisite venue and its stunning décor to the delectable food and faultless service from the KEE team- our clients and guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves, making this Private Client Dinner a genuinely memorable experience.
